Next month, All Stars head to Gothenburg for the Gothia Cup — the world’s largest youth football tournament — and the group stage draw is in. Two squads. Two incredible opportunities. One unforgettable summer.
Girls 15s: Sweden and Beyond
Our Girls 15s have been drawn into a group that will test everything they’ve worked on this season. They’ll face three Swedish sides — Trollhättans BoIS, Örebro Syrianska IF, and Markaryds IF — alongside Icelandic outfit Stjärnan, who bring their own brand of technically disciplined football to the table.
Swedish grassroots football is renowned for its physicality and tactical organisation, so our girls will need to be sharp from the first whistle. Stjärnan add an international wildcard element — and we know from experience that Icelandic sides are never to be underestimated. This group will demand focus, adaptability, and real character.
Boys 17s: A Truly Global Group
The Boys 17s have landed in something that reads like a proper international tournament brochure. Four opponents, four different footballing cultures.
Vorwärts Spoho 98 e.V. arrive from Germany with a pedigree built on structure and intensity. Minnesota Thunder Academy cross the Atlantic representing one of America’s most respected development programmes. Vänersbörgs FK and Sollentuna FK Vit round out the group, bringing the depth and quality of Swedish club football.
Four very different sides. Four very different challenges. Exactly what a tournament like this should feel like.
What This Means for Our Players
The Gothia Cup is not just football — it’s exposure to different styles, cultures, and standards that simply cannot be replicated back home. For many of our players, this will be the most formative football experience of their lives so far. Competing against sides from Sweden, Germany, Iceland, and the United States gives every player a yardstick to measure themselves against — and the motivation to keep growing when they come home.
Both squads have prepared well. The coaching staff are finalising the tactical detail. The families have been incredible in their support.
